Once again, Team Black was first on the score board when Joel Wang #66 scored his first goal of the series with an assist by #22 Dylan Eliason. The deja vu continued with Team White shutting down their adversaries with 7 straight goals.
“Today was no surprise to anyone on this bench,” claimed Team White Head Coach Magnus Tedestedt. “These boys have dominated all season long and left no doubt in anyone’s mind that they deserving on this championship.”
Joakim Almi (#11 Finnish Firecracker) finished his career with the Thunderbirds with a hat-trick. He scored the first two goals for Team White and later in the game he tipped in a third, assisted by the youngest player in the league #88 Matthew Lee. Almi scored an impressive six goals in the three game series.
Joshua Cheng #52 scored this third goal of the series with assists from Team Captain #9 Sean Bradley and #12 Assistant Captain Ben Matts. Both players had impressive games, with Bradley also scoring one goal and Matts with two additional assists. Swedish Sensation Viggo Keden added two goals and #87 George Whissell had one assist.
“I’m proud on my boys despite the outcome,” said Black Head Coach Matt Bradley. “We were down a few key players and lost Assistant Captain Owen Lee during the game due to a head injury. But those aren’t excuses - White deserved to win and we congratulate them for a great series and season.”
